Write Mode Basics
Find Polish, Make concise, opening and conclusion tools, saved styles, and revision controls.
Open Write to draft, format text and revise passages. You can type your own text or review a first draft generated from a saved brief or outline.
Start from a brief
In New document, choose Write a brief and add your audience, facts, length and language. Choose a writing style, then Continue to writing. Select Preview first draft to generate a suggestion using AI credits. Review, refine or edit it before choosing Use this draft; your document stays empty until you accept it.
Title and appearance are optional. Open their section to name the document, choose its type or add a cover. On first use, the optional title appears below the writing style.
Already on a blank page? Choose Add a writing brief, save your instructions, then preview a draft. You can also Work on an outline when the piece needs more planning.
Choose your voice
Use the writing-style selector to choose a saved style or create one for this draft. Describe the tone, vocabulary, rhythm and restrictions you want. Use a writing sample can extract instructions from your own writing; review them before saving.
When creating a document, Default names the style that will be inherited from the workspace or your personal settings. No style means no custom style is selected. You can choose a different style for this document without changing those defaults.
A document font changes how the editor looks. A writing style guides AI suggestions.

- Click inside a paragraph, or select the text you want to change.

- Review the suggestion before applying it. Your draft remains unchanged until you accept a change.
- Refine the suggestion with instructions such as “Keep the first sentence exactly.”

Review the preview, then choose Insert below to keep the original or Replace whole draft to replace it. Undo restores the previous writing.
On a narrow screen, All tools also gives you access to the opening and conclusion actions. Summaries use your selected writing style; review facts and qualifications before applying them.
