Brainstorm Mode Basics
Explore a writing direction and organise connected thoughts before drafting.
BlueTip offers discovery for developing a new writing direction and a Brainstorm canvas for working with connected thoughts inside a document.
Explore a new idea
Choose Explore first when starting a document. Explain what you want to write, who will read it, and what they need to know.
Include concrete constraints, for example: “A short notice for library readers. Explain the changed opening date. Use only the dates below.”
Work through the discovery steps, review suggested directions and refine the context. State factual corrections explicitly. Choose a writing style before creating the plan.
Work on the canvas
Open Brainstorm inside your document to organise thoughts as connected nodes. Edit node text and use the available controls to connect, arrange or remove ideas.
Keep observations separate from questions and possibilities. “Could we extend opening hours?” is an idea to investigate, not evidence that hours have changed.
The Pinboard provides a separate place for collected material and notes. Use relevant sources and notes to support the ideas you carry forward.
Turn ideas into writing
Review the proposed outline before using it. Check that its sections match your intended piece and that factual claims come from your source material.
Open Outline to adjust the plan and writing brief, then Write to draft. Planning notes are kept separate from the prose.
